Parent Responsibilities, Fees, Uniforms & Transportation

Bilingual Global Citizens Public Charter School (BGC PCS) is a free public charter school. There are no tuition costs or attendance fees required to enroll or attend. Students must be residents of Baltimore County, as required by state and county enrollment guidelines.

Fees & Financial Obligations

There are no mandatory fees for attendance at BGC PCS. Families may be asked to support optional school activities or enrichment opportunities, but participation in these activities is voluntary and will never be a condition of enrollment or continued attendance.

School Uniforms

At this time, a final decision regarding school uniforms has not yet been made. BGC PCS believes in shared decision-making and values family voice. Any decision regarding uniforms will be made in collaboration with families after the student lottery process, ensuring parent input and community consensus.

Family Participation

BGC PCS views families as essential partners in student success. While there are no mandatory volunteer hour requirements, families are strongly encouraged to engage in school activities, family events, workshops, and school governance opportunities as part of our collaborative school community.

Transportation

As a countywide public charter school, BGC PCS does not provide transportation services. Families are responsible for transporting their children to and from school.

Once the school building location is finalized, BGC PCS will develop and communicate strategies to support families with transportation planning, which may include:

  • Facilitating parent-organized carpooling options
  • Sharing information about public transportation or nearby bus lines, if applicable
  • Exploring community-based or private transportation options, when available

While transportation is not provided by the school, BGC PCS is committed to working with families to identify practical solutions that support access and attendance.
