Supporting the Whole Child at BGC PCS
At Bilingual Global Citizens Public Charter School (BGC PCS), we believe that student success begins with well-being. Our approach to education prioritizes not only academic excellence, but also the emotional, mental, social, and physical health of every student.
In alignment with best practices and state guidance, our Student Services framework is informed by the work of the Student Services and Strategic Planning Branch (SSSP), which provides leadership and technical support to schools in implementing comprehensive student support systems.

Student Services initiatives focus on helping students thrive in school and in life. These supports include:

- Pupil Personnel & Attendance Support – Promoting consistent engagement and success in school
- School Health Services – Addressing students’ physical health needs in collaboration with families
- Safe Schools & Student Safety Initiatives – Creating a secure, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
- Dropout Prevention & Alternative Supports – Identifying and supporting students who may be at risk

These efforts are designed to reduce disruptions to learning, address at-risk behaviors, promote positive school climates, and support strong academic outcomes.
